The Distinguished Engineer Award of the International Science and Technology Exchange Foundation of China (ISEFC) was established and hosted by the International Science and Technology Exchange Foundation of China (ISEFC) with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Science and Technology Awards Office in 2017.
The award is given to enterprise engineering and technical personnel who have made outstanding contributions in the field of production and construction nationwide. Its purpose is to inspire the majority of engineering and technical personnel on the front line of production and construction to contribute to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, accelerate industrial technological progress, and improve social productivity and economic development.The Distinguished Engineer Award is selected every two years, and the awards are divided into the "Distinguished Engineer Award" and the "Distinguished EngineerYouth Award". The winners are selected by the award committee after preliminary evaluation by high-level experts from various professional fields and final evaluation by the evaluation committee.

The Distinguished Engineer Award is the first comprehensive award for engineering and technical personnel in the field of production, construction and scientific research named after "engineers" in the world. It is a major breakthrough in the field of science and technology awards, and is currently the most widely covered award for engineering and technical personnel. It not only fills the gap in the establishment of world science and technology awards, highlights the reward for engineers, but also ensures the quality of selection through national-level industry associations and academician recommendations, electronic system declaration, and screening by academicians and industry-renowned experts. Award Settings
The Distinguished Engineer Award is selected every two years. From the first selection in 2014 to 2022, a total of five selections have been completed. The awards are divided into the "Distinguished Engineer Award" and the "Distinguished EngineerYouth Award". The number of winners for the "Distinguished Engineer Award" is not more than 40 per selection, while the number of winners for the "Distinguished Engineer Youth Award" is not more than 30 per selection. It is proposed to establish the "Distinguished Engineer Achievement Award" for the Distinguished Engineer Award in 2024, with a maximum of two winners per selection, which will be selected from the world-renowned engineering masters who have made outstanding contributions to human development.
